Shopify Store Setup
Account & Domain Configuration
Legal: Fill out your Store Policies (Refund, Privacy, Terms) using Shopify’s generators.
Domain: Connect a custom domain (e.g.,
www.yourbrand.com). Avoid using the defaultmyshopify.comURL for customer-facing links.
Strategic Product Organization
Data: Add products with SEO-friendly titles, high-res WebP images, and detailed descriptions.
Collections: Create “Manual” or “Automated” collections (e.g., “New Arrivals”) to help customers navigate easily.
Inventory: Set up your tax settings and inventory locations.
Theme Customization
Branding: Upload your logo and set a consistent color palette in Theme Settings.
Homepage: Build a high-conversion landing page using “Featured Collection” and “Image Banner” sections.
Navigation: Set up your Header (Main Menu) and Footer menus.
Payments & Shipping Logic
Payments: Activate Shopify Payments or a third-party gateway (like Stripe/PayPal). Ensure Shop Pay is enabled for 1-click checkout.
Shipping: Create “Shipping Zones.” Decide between flat rates, calculated rates, or free shipping thresholds (e.g., “Free shipping over $50”).
Essential App Integration
Marketing: Install an email app (like Shopify Email or Klaviyo).
SEO/Speed: Use an app for image compression and schema markup.
Customer Support: Add a Chatbox or an FAQ page to reduce support tickets.
Testing & Launch
Place a Test Order: Use “Bogus Gateway” or a real card (then refund it) to ensure the checkout works.
Mobile Audit: Check every page on a phone; 80% of Shopify traffic is usually mobile.
Remove Password: Go to Online Store > Preferences and disable the store password to go live.
